{the stats}
Karina Manarin is a dexterous fiber artist and prolific designer putting a spirited spin on her hand dyed and hand printed apparel + accessories. She received her BFA in Fibers from Arizona State University in 2007. Initially working on large scale screen printed works she transitioned into using her knowledge of surface design and textiles into wearable pieces {aka specimens}. She uses techniques and processes usually reserved for fine arts to create limited edition pieces. Fancy pants!

Inspired by naturally occurring patterns and textures in minerals, stones and geologic structures, she creates original illustrations, prints and dye patterns which reflect this in a simplified modern way. Currently, Karina has been exploring dye discharge techniques in combination with low-water immersion dyeing processes. She chooses all vegan materials + products, no animal products are used in the process.

{the skinny}
Karina lives in Arizona with her boyfriend and two wee doggies. She is vegan and tries to make kind and friendly choices in all aspects of her life and art. According to Karina, she has a highly unfocused mind and can't easily commit to just one project or medium {who could with all those lovely ideas swirling around?} so you will find her dallying with dyes, paints, pigments, prints, markers, metal, wood and photography. She has a serious love for patterns, geology and vintage art books {and who doesn't love the pleasant, camphorous smell of a vintage book? Rhetorical question, my friends}.

Looky here at some of her zippy textile art: you can see Karina's innate design talent sprouting out of her imagination and onto our screens. Shop her handsome hand dyed warehere!
