{Around the World} Krochet Kids: From Uganda with Love

Friday, December 7, 2012

Who knew young whippersnappers loved to crochet as much as the three friends and enterprising co-founders of Krochet Kids? This is the story of a trio of industrious minds, Kohl Crecelius, Travis Hartanov and Stewart Ramsey, who turned their love of crocheting into a trade that helps empower people of Uganda to rise above poverty via their nonprofit accessories company

Each purchase of Krochet Kids’ handcrafted accessories helps to provide jobs, skills training and mentorship to women in developing countries. Visit their happy site, where lots of good things are happening: there's the crocheting of swanky scarves and crafting of swell hats, a little dancing and singing, too {some fun shenanigans going on over yonder}And you get to meet the special ladies behind your hand knit toppers and made-with-love bow tie showstoppers {so many great choices, so little time}.

I've put together a few of my favorites from Krochet Kids in shades of gray and sprinkled into the mix: {2} a standout eco accessory by Sprout and {4} a splashy bio nail polish by Priti.

Head on over to Krochet Kids to snatch up some of those green goods made with heart before they're gone {and on my noggin + around my neck}
