Today we're heading over to the birthplace of rock legend Jimi Hendrix, Seattle, Washington, where eco blogger Jennifer Nicole has been blogging her heart out since 2009. Jennifer's quirky + artistic site Awakened Aesthetic is full of quick news bytes on ethical fashion brands and events that are worth checking out if you're in her neck of the woods.

Jennifer's blog is a visual treat, with a not oft seen playful font and chalkboard theme that harkens back to days of yore. She offers loads of easy and inexpensive ways to involve yourself in the sustainable aesthetics community, and she also has the occasional giveaway contest {and who doesn't love free goodies?}.

Nicole describes her blog as a running diary of her experience trying to be green in a fast fashion world. A peek into her daily musings reveals an ongoing affair with green beauty products, apparel + home decor {who knew hemp couches could look this good?}, a love for ice cream {any friend of ice cream is a friend of mine}, and uplifting quotes like this one.

She shares with readers her special affection for independent woman-owned businesses, her passion for all things Etsy, and a plethora of affordable ethical products. Jennifer insists living ethically shouldn’t require spending exorbitant amounts of money nor should it be guilt-inducing; her goal is for all ethical fashionistas to keep calm + carry on without compromising taste or breaking the bank.

For Jennifers's rad recommendations, read on.
