{Indie Designer Crush} Ace + Jig: Girls on Fire

Monday, August 12, 2013

What happens when you get a really good idea? The kind of idea that activates your imagination and stirs your soul? Are you propelled to action?

If you're Cary Vaughan + Jenna Wilson, you do what you do best: you design undeniably remarkable textiles, construct irresistible garments with flattering silhouettes, and engage expert weavers to create the final product on ancient hand looms. Then you put together look books with beautiful, rumple-haired models, and the result is incendiary.

Cary + Jenna's love of textiles awakened the designers' inner entrepreneur. Having learned the tricks of the trade as interns + fledgling designers at lifestyle boutique Language in New York, they went on to launch LaROK in 2004, then after a short sabbatical, the decision was made to aggressively pursue their artistic passions, tying in their rapacious appetite for custom textiles and their eye for clean design. In 2009 ace+jig was born, and the world was smitten.

Made from their custom yarn-dyed wovens, the fertile imaginations of Cary + Jenna, and the looms of the artisans in India, the super soft, lightweight single cloth apparel is made from 100% cotton and is 100% covetable.

Ready to energize your closet? Find ace+jig here, here or head on over to one of my favorite shops right over here.
