"the artist must create a spark before he can make a fire and before art is born,
the artist must be ready to be consumed by the fire of his own creation."

{today's simple pleasures}

discovery channel: two amazing discoveries this week! this blog, les musées de paris, written by gemma king, in which she scouts lesser known museums + offers all the wonderful details including hours, location + admission fees to fellow muséophiles like me. merci beaucoup madame king!

peace project: i perused gemma's lovely site and finally alighted on the musée albert kahn in boulogne-billancourt. this is the first museum i've visited since my move to france + it was fantastique! kahn was a fascinating character, a pacifist + philanthropist with a heart for nature + anthropology. the museum boasts a lush + verdant ten-acre garden and an intriguing collection of autochromes documenting "the discovery missions" of photographers commissioned by kahn to over 60 countries. learn more about kahn's mission to promote cross-cultural understanding + his desire to foster peace here
