"i've always believed in the power of business. and through really good business,
we can tackle the problems that we face today."
shannon keith

often times when we travel, we return changed. enlightened. stretched. shannon keith traveled to india and was forever altered. she witnessed a need for safe, steady employment for young women who might otherwise be trapped by economic poverty. she returned informed, aware + galvanized.

shannon founded sudara, an ethical apparel + accessories label, in turn creating jobs + creating hope. sundara is the sanskrit word for "beautiful" and this loungewear company is really just that.

from our friends at sudara:
in 2006, sudara hired the first 6 employees in their first-ever sewing center partnership and began teaching each woman the skills needed to become seamstresses and our first pair of punjammies loungewear was produced. stitch by stitch, the women gained confidence not only in their new-found trade, but also in their new-found hope and freedom. since that time, our relationships have grown into multiple sewing center partnerships and hundreds of women gaining a new community and safe place to work and heal.

find robes, t-shirts + jammies for him, for her and for the wee tots. to know me is to know i love a graphic tee. some might wear these "love changes the world" tees to bed, but i would certainly wear it around town or under a blazer + with a pair of jeans to work. comfy tees are also the perfect travel gear.

half of the 30 million slaves in the world are from india according to the walk free foundation.* when companies exist with the express intent of combating the ills of society, like modern slavery, it reminds us that we have a choice as consumers + our purchases can positively impact lives. to learn more about their work, click here. to read more about trafficking, click here.
